The church is elegant and charming, a delicate exterior of the 1890s I should think, with curly bits and a little tower. Did it once have a spire? They had a jumble sale on in the adjacent hall, and you could walk through into the church. Entirely modernised in the 1990s, all that remains of the old church are the stained glass and memorials. But it was pleasant enough. The hall opens on to the High Street, and I got the impression this was the church that ordinary Clacton folk saw as their own, coming and going as they pleased.
