Effectively the main church of Frinton. It sits grandly at one end of the High Street, and tells us something about the theological sympathies of Frinton's early 20th Century town planners. It was the work of William Hayne, and Pevsner considered it his magnum opus. Meanwhile, the Anglicans sulk off in Old Street at St Mary Magdalene, and the Catholics have a shed at the other end of the High Street.
However, Frinton Free Church was not taking part in the Historic Churches Ride and Stride event of 2014. Let us hope that they never have to apply for a grant.Simon Knott, September 2014
