London City Churches This map shows the numbered location of each church with an entry on the site. I'm afraid that it is not clickable yet. The churches are divided into four groups, and each group is centred around an Underground station. The numbers refer to the list of churches in the index, and each church has a reference to its number and group on its individual page. Numbers in green show churches that still exist, numbers in yellow refer to lost churches of which some trace survives. It would be reasonable to attempt to visit all the churches and sites in one group on foot in one long day. Indeed, on a long summer day you could probably get round all of them, as long as you didn't linger inside. Churches in Group 1 can best be
accessed from Temple or Blackfriars station. If you are feeling ambitious, then Bank station will place you exactly where groups 2, 3 and 4 meet. Group 1 might be better combined with a visit to some of the churches of the City of Westminster. numbers refer to the list of churches in the index This LONDONcitychurches map is courtesy of bingmaps.com. |
