Page, Cross and Knott baptisms took place here after this date, but it was not licenced for marriages. C WATERWORKS. The Cross family worked here. D GASWORKS. The Cross family worked here E MILITIA BARRACKS. The Page and Cross boys signed up for WWI here. F ROYAL OAK public house. Thomas Cross was living here on the night of the 1881 census. Later a regular port of call of my grandfather Joe Knott. G QUEENS HEAD public house. Henry Page was living here in 1908 according to his son Herbert's army attestation papers. H METHODIST CHAPEL. Several of the Page boys declared they were Methodists when they signed up for the army. |
